Name: Cecil Brooks on Apr 25, 2008Comments: Pennsylvania's current LCB regulations concerning the retailing of alcoholic beverages are not designed or intended to curb alcohol abuse, nor is it possible for any modification of them to do so. The purpose of maintaining current restrictions is to satisfy the entrenched financial interests of a few businesses and a state bureaucracy. This does not serve the greater public good and it violates the principles of free enterprise on which the prosperity of the people depends.Flag

Name: Jonathan P. Diehl on May 22, 2008Comments: My biggest complaint is that one can't buy singles at a distributor. This isn't a big deal when it comes to your standard american junk beer but... when you consider buying belgian beer which generally comes in 750 ml bottles and run about 8-15 dollars a bottle it makes it a difficult purchase to buy a full case and also most distributors won't carry a wide selection because the purchase of a case is unlikely. That would be like requiring wine to be purchased by the case. Very few people will spend over $100 a case especially if it is their first sampling of the beverage. I feel this also limits the availability of high quality beer. Using Thomas Hardy, Samiclaus, or Rochefort as examples, the cost of a 24 bottle case would amount to roughly $200+ a case.Flag
