I am a retired Detroit elementary teacher and foun the children from Holmes to be a delight. This school is a jewel and should not be closed. |

It would be very unfortunate to close a school with such an outstanding staff serving a uniquely diverse student population. Please seek alternatives to closing O.W. Holmes. |
| 118 | Annette Attardo | The discription of your school sounds great. Why close this school? |

| 122 | Kym Kauffman | You have a wonderful Science teacher there, who has earneed numerous grants for the school and kids. She has also been chosen as Teacher of the Year at her home school for 2006, by the Alumni Association. Why would you want to close that school? You would risk losing a teacher of that caliber? This makes no sense! |

| 128 | Kaleema Annie Sumareh | Please do not close this school, it will create a terrible hardship on the children, youth and the families in the community. It will leave the building vacant in the community, increasing the potential for creating unsafe and unsanitary conditions in our neighborhood. We need strong neighborhood schools and AL Holmes is a strong school. Please don't dismantle our school and our community.
thank you. |

| 136 | Wynell Pinkney | I am a former student at O.W. Holmes. I graduated in 1990. I credit O.W. Holmes for laying a solid academic foundation that has enabled me to achieve my life-ling goals up to this point. The diverse student body made me ready for the real world. I would love for future students to be able to make these type of comments in later years. |
