TO: Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and Attorney General Robert McClelland Australia\'s record for overseas adoptions is an international embarrassment. We currently have the second lowest rate of intercountry adoption in the world. We also have some of the longest waiting lists, and the most costly fees with couples spending $50,000 to adopt a baby.
