The incident in Newtown, Connecticut, has brought to light an issue we can no longer ignore. The use of automatic weapons used in these mass killings. No longer should the NRA be as powerful as it is and should not have the influence to decide the future of our children's safety. Our rights to carry weapons, as stated in the 2nd amendment to the constitution gives us the right to defend ourselves. In holding with that belief, we should be allowed to carry concealed weapons. This petition is to ask our lawmakers to take a good look at the use of assault weapons and ask them to repeal the use of these weapons. Time will be the measuring point by which theses weapons will be off of our streets. We have to start somewhere and let it be today.
