Comments: This is a great idea!!! I had the pleasure of watching Coach Young coach all three of my brothers, Mark, Jeff and Goober. When you ate, lived and breathed baseball with my dad, Curly Anderson as their little league coach, it took alot to impress my dad. But I know that if he was still alive today, he would tell you that he was impressed with Coach Young, the man and the coach. I know that he would agree with me and many others of honoring Coach Young's legacy by naming the field after him.

Comments: I helped Coach Young build that field from the lay out to acturally laying the sod one piece at at time. And from that time to now, that field has been Chuck Young field. Every one who knows baseball and has been around for any length of time knows that when they enter that stadium, they are entering Chuck Young's field. It doesn't need to have his name attached to the field for everyone to know that, but it would be nice to finally do something in his honor-he deserves it. I know that our administration will try to say that the district doesn 't name schools or buildings after people who are still alive, but my goodness how sad is that Why do we wait for funerals to tell those we love how much we do actually love them and appriciate them They can't hear it then. We should do that while they are alive and can appreciate those words and kind deeds. We have two school, Sims and Hatton that were named after men who were living at the time. I know those men were deserving and so is Coach Young. He is BC baseball so why not name the field after the man who built it. I was his assistant for years and proud to be, but he also coached my son and for that, I am grateful. Naming the field after him would be a great thing!

Comments: As coaches, we often speak of that "difference maker" in reference to that special athlete who has been blessed with the gift of God-given talent. Having known Coach Young as a former student-athlete and professional colleague, there is no question that he has been a true "difference maker" in the lives of countless young men. I have never been a "baseball person". But, as an educator, it is obvious that the impact of this man extends far beyond the diamond. The community of Bridge City has been truly blessed to have had Coach Young as a leader of its youth.Unfortunately, circumstances led to his having to leave the district over ten years ago. His positive influence, however, continues to be felt today and will for generations to come. I pray that petty politics and grudges within the school district will not get in the way of this honor. He is a special person who made Bridge City High School a special place for all who knew him and Bridge City Baseball a special program. Renaming the field is simply the right thing to do. "Chuck Young Field" is the right name and NOW is the right time.

Comments: Although I am not a graduate of Bridge City High School in Bridge City, TX but I have heard about what Coach Young done not only to the school but to the community as well. He has produced many outstanding players which some of went into collegiate level and quite a few went into the professional ranks as well. Coach Young has put Bridge City Cardinal Baseball on the map; turning it to one of the most successful high school baseball teams in the State. He is one of the State's best high school baseball coaches of all-time and Coach Young deserves to have the ballpark named "Chuck Young Park" not only in his honor but in his memory

I was a member of the 1992 Stae Finalist team and you have my full agreement & support for the naming of the field. Nice ring to the field V. "Chuck" Young Stadium right next to Larry Ward Field!
