mike schwager | I have had the honor to work with Chuck ever since i got out of college and began my first year here in Texas City. Everything i have learned about coaching baseball i have learned from him.
Cory Gafford | Words like "class" and "dedication" are always spoken in the same breath as Chuck Young. He deserves this honor not only for his numerous accomplishments on the baseball field, but more importantly for building character and discipline in young men. I would be proud to have anything to do with his being recognized in this way.

R.T. Bryant | It would be a proud day for all the players who knew Coach Young to have this field renamed after him. For anyone who knew him that field was his baby. He spent many afternoons and weekends to make Cardinal Field the best field in this area to play on. I recall him saying this facility is the best in the area and possible all of Houston but his wife wouldn't let him go to Houston.
Connie Erskine | Coach Young is such a wonderful coach and person. My daughter was a diamond girl for the Stings. It was such a wonderful experience for her. She learned far more than baseball. She learned about values, responsibilty, and committment, just for example.

jeanne wood kern | Chuck and Cardinal baseball are synonymous. It only makes sense that his name should be honored this way. I think it's not only a no-brainer, it's the Right Thing to do!

Becky Hargrave Romero | During my senior year, 1978-79, I was priviledged to be the BCHS Baseball Statistician for Coach Young. My job was to keep HIS scorebook at the games. My friend, Mitzi Kelly Hayes, was the other Statistician for the team and kept the pitching book stats. We were allowed to even travel with the team! It was a wonderful experience and I was honored to be chosen for this important task. He taught me just how he needed me to keep the books and the extra things he needed noted on the plays. To this day, baseball is my favorite sport and I often share stories from that year with my own students! Coach Young was always very professional and an outstanding leader role model. I am proud to have crossed paths with such an honorable man and will always remember that experience.
