Comments: As a citizen of Edinburgh I am concerned and worried at the prospect of the privatisation of Council services which currently provide good val;ue for money, jobs for the people of Edinburgh and surrounding areas. Privitisation of public services has resulted in the very costly trams project and the Southern Cross situation in England.

Comments: How can a private company with shareholders possibly provide better services while still making a financial saving compared to a non profit organisation? It’s one or the other either a better services at a lot higher cost or there will be the financial savings but at the detriment of the services provided. The only way forward is to retain the services within the council. I pay my council tax so that the services can be provided to those who need them not to give profits to shareholders.

Comments: The council has a long history of public service; of working with the people they employ to get the most out of them for their own and the communities benefit. Please don't throw all this away - private employers are all about profit, not wellbeing.

Comments: Just another excuse to drive down wages for the less well off. Shame on you Edinburgh is a rich rich city, it is time that the well off paided a little more to help the rest If this goes through then obviously we will need less councillors to run Edinburgh Council as they will have nothing left to run It's time the council resigned - it's been a disaster. You are meant to represent people who voted you in, which includes your employees

Comments: I am very disappointed to hear of this development. The Council made a huge mistake in trying to impose trams on an unwilling population. Nobody I've ever met wanted them and yet the council has pushed ahead. You have made living in the city centre very unpleasant, destroyed countless local businesses, and shown our city to be incompetent and a national embarrassment. To follow this folly with one much more serious - the privatization of Council services - is criminal. I urge you to re-consider this flawed plan. Otherwise your mistakes will be reflected at the ballot box.

Comments: Scotland's capital city deserves first class public services and those won't be provided by the private sector. Edinburgh's people and historic buildings need to be protected against privatisation and those just seeking a quick profit. Services should be provided by organisations who are accountable to the people of Edinburgh i.e. they should be run by the Council!
