Name: James Olson on Jul 25, 2008Comments: Will we ever catch up with the rest of the world that pumps their own gas. When I go to Washington State I am in and out in a jiffy, but in Oregon I set forever. I heard something about gas attendants having to be certified to work around the pumps. Are they afraid we will be poisoned by the fumes I know there are some people that are afraid that we will take jobs away by pumping our own. I grew up in California and all stations were self serve. It would be like pulling teeth to get someone just to come out of the building.Flag

Name: Ben Kinch on Jun 25, 2009Comments: NJ is the only other state that requires an attendant to pump gas. However, they have subsidized gas prices so it makes up for the inconvenience. If this is simply a matter of making more jobs, the state should find another way. Atleast allow the option of Self Service.Flag
