CARLYSS RESIDENTS AND STAKEHOLDERS DO NOT WANT AN APARTMENT COMPLEX BUILT IN OUR COMMUNITY. We the, citizens and stakeholders, of the Carlyss community, do request the members of Calcasieu Parish Zoning Board, and the members of the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury, to reject Mr. Natalia’s request to build an apartment complex on Hwy. 27 South. Several concerns we have as citizens and stakeholders are: Traffic egress and ingress, highway traffic safety, drainage, safety for the citizens, and the loss of our quiet rural community. We feel this proposal does not improve the conditions of our community, does not generate revenue or job opportunities for its citizens and only profits for the developer and land owner. Two such areas are already in existence and have readily available units/houses to rent or lease: PepperMill Apartment Complex, and Renoir Estates South. We humbly request that the Parish Government will rule with the constituents and stakeholders of this community.
