Oppose bill HB 162

Please help us to stop HB162! Targeting the elimination of high performance boats is not the solution to safety on the lake. We feel this law will force many vacationers, boaters, and tax paying residents elsewhere leading to a slowing of the Lakes Region economy and the failure of many local businesses. The majority of NHRBA members feel the HB162 is not the solution to making lake Winnipesaukee safer. Through boater education, outreach programs and awareness programs, NHRBA intends to thoroughly analyze boating concerns on the lake and to make recommendations based on those findings. As the lake has become more popular and with its vastness of enjoyment, NHRBA will maintain focused on promoting legislation that does not discrminate against any boating class. Comments: Speed is not a danger, what causes accidents is substances and a lack of boating education.
