The Football Association (FA) have recently announced plans to reduce the number of leagues at Step 5 of the national pyramid system from 14 to 12. The plans have been met with opposition and criticism from both fans of non-league and by respective league committees. In times when the economy is not strong, clubs would have to find extra money to travel further to games which would put added pressure on their financial resources - especially with the price of petrol at a record high. With 100s of clubs already gone to the wall, is it fair to potentially add more to this list? Fans, Clubs and Leagues need to stand up and tell the FA that they will oppose their plans 100%. There are far better ways of reorganising non-league, and the FA need to listen to them.
