Name: Craig Hoffman on Jan 14, 2013Comments: NYS already has some of the strictest gun laws in the nation and any further laws will do nothing to stop sick or evil people from doing evil things and will only effect the law abiding. By definition only the law abiding obey the law. I firmly believe the root of the problem needs to be addressed, tougher penalties for those that commit crimes with firearms, stricter enforcement of the laws we already have and psychiatric help for those that need it. I whole heartedly agree that firearms need to be kept out of the hands of criminals and the mentally ill. As a law abiding, tax paying and voting resident of New York State I urge you to not place any further restrictions on the rights guaranteed to me by the United States constitution. Sincerely, Craig HoffmanFlag

Comments: Its time you got a clue NYS! All of these bans will not save any lives. Our crappy state has had a ban on Standard Capacity Magazines (over 10 rounds) since 1994 as well as assault weapons which isnt really a ban on assault weapons (fully automatic weapons) but the cosmetic look of a semi automatic weapon (fires one round at a time) that resembles an assualt weapon. Its time you crack down on crime and not the device in which criminals use during the commital of a crime. Lets outlaw cars because drunks are too damn stupid to not get behind the wheel and kill people in them. Drunk drivers kill way more people then guns in the US!Flag -
