Name: Molly De Marco on Jan 1, 2012
Comments: I live in Chapel Hill and have been a member of the CHCYMCA for over 4 years. I believe the CHCYMCA has a set of non-discrimination policies that the community can be proud of and I do not want them to be eroded in the pursuit of funds. What other non-discrimination protections would the board be willing to remove? I will resign my membership if the merger goes through without a change in the YOTA policies.

Comments: I live in Chapel Hill and we are Y members and soccer players. This seems like a no brainer to me. Why would YOTA oppose adopting our more liberal non-discrimination policy?

    Name: Brett Webb-Mitchell on Jan 2, 2012
Comments: I am against the Management Service Agreement/Merger between CHCYMCA and YOTA, based upon the homophobic nature of YOTA; the need for representative leadership from within the CHCYMCA; and re-allocation of funds within the CHCYMCA.

Name: Meredith Robbins on Jan 2, 2012
Comments: I do not support a merger of the CH-Carrboro Y to the Y of the Triangle WITHOUT a change to the non-discrimination policies to include LGBT individuals. If the merger occurs without a change, I will cancel my YMCA membership because I will not support a system that does not treat all individuals equally, regardless of race, religious affiliation, or sexual orientation.

Comments: I live in Durham, but participate in the CH Y programs (three of my children are currently enrolled in team time). I chose not to join the Durham branch of the Y due to their policies and anti-gay attitudes. We are a two mom family. The Triangle Y has made it clear to us over the years that we will not be considered a famiy at their establishments. I do not want any of my money to go to programs run by the Triangle Y.

Name: Samuel Magill on Jan 6, 2012
Comments: I am a YMCA member and former member of the Board of Directors. I also have grave reservations about other issues, e.g., assumptions about fund-raising and commitment of a very substantial sum of money as a fee to the Y of the Triangle. What exactly is the return on that investment?
