I was approached today about a major hit and miss from our Petition. Our focus was to save Unite and Widgets among other features. But after much consideration, went ahead and adjusted so more will join our fight. Please continue to tell all you know that use Opera in general.
Well that is going to change the strategy a little bit. With the buzz of Facebook looking to take over this could work heavily in our favor. Currently Rockmelt and Facebook have been working together with open .api codes to improve enhance services. But will this shift the mood if they take over Opera will the name change to FoPera or will it become Facebook Sofware ASA? There is no telling how this will play out, but I do encourage the service to consider the amazing power it could hold in it's ability if each user became a sole host. It could very much supercharge the social giant in a big way.

Update: Now @ 146 joining the cause. Today will load Opera 12 and attempt to force unite. If this works options are to obtain all unite apps and store them locally to run additional test. Its possible to host the files elsewhere and alternate instructions to connect offsite. A similar project occurred with Jazy.net when they hosted a temp server for those on the PowWow Voice Chat client. Although many features were disabled the basic functions overlapped and responded. This is just one of many ideas occurring, note this adjustment will take time for testing purposes. Additional features can be added as we move along.

As the deadline approaches, I have been approached to add (Torrent and IRC) as these apps were removed as well. Some reasons is due to lack of support, as stated by various users in comments found in the Opera Desktop Forums. By request added the entries to the petition.
Today we started looking at how users have been impacted and the spreading the word. Sent email to author Huib Kleinhout about the petition.
