The part closure of Trafalgar St - Planned without consultation with local people.

Complaint to Plymouth City Council regarding ZERO consultation from the developers Urban Cribs or the contractors Midas to residents and businesses which might be directly affected by any work. (10 weeks ago)

Tec Team met with Urban Cribs and was told Midas Construction will communicate with residents and businesses (this was 2 months ago). Tec Team were advised of the plan of construction. (which never included the closure of Hewers Row for 12 months)

Six weeks ago Midas Construction FAILED to communicate to anyone other than Plymouth City Council to request licence to close public highway (Hewers Row). Plymouth City Council FAILED to consider the site has already received complaints and have no legal requirements other than to replace the old planning notices with identical new ones and to advertise in local press twice.

NOW Midas have unnecessarily closed a road and claim its necessary (ABOVE), yet no one challenges to even ask WHY.

The answer the smaller development opposite where the new Sainsbury is going was the planned area for the site office, parking w/c and staff tea room. Midas realised that they could do both developments together, with no consideration or communication with the community.

FACT 1

The Plans were changed

FACT 2

Plymouth City Council don't give a hoot

FACT 3

Midas Construction can build Sainsbury's without closing Hewers Row

FACT 4

Midas Construction have disregarded any instructions or advice to communicate with residents and businesses which might be directly affected by any changes made to the plan.

FACT 5

Midas Contractors continually disrupt and effect small businesses in this area without proper consideration.

NOTE
Urban Cribs and Midas Construction continue to say without grounds or evidence that Hews Row is a necessary closure, they continue to say they will communicate again we see no evidence of that, its always after a complaint.
