We the Android User & Developer base believe that the locking of the bootloader is a violation of Androids Open source title and shouldn't be allowed on an Android device. We understand that there are users that use custom roms and root access to bypass certain paid carrier features on these devices but those that do should be punished not the entire group. We assert that when we purchase and Android Device we purchase it for its ability to be customized and used as we would our own home computer, and have a choice as to which pieces of software we would like installed. this statement applies to carriers that include software that cannot be removed from the device that many of us don't use ie; Backup Manager, Amazon MP3, blockbuster, visual voice mail, Carrier specific stores, & Hardware Manufacturer UI's. the Last two aforementioned items are used but there are different ways to approach this such as adding a bill to carrier option in Google Checkout and adding UIs to the market with a hardware limitation this will also reduce time needed to release a software update.
