Calling on Motorola: Petition to release the source code for the full Premise source under an open source license.

Premise Home Control is a software application designed to integrate and control devices for the purpose of automating a home.  After a series of acquisitions, Premise Home Control was eventually sold to Motorola.  Motorola discontinued all development and support of Premise Home Control in 2005, however, it released the final version (V2.1) to the public for free.

Premise continues to be implemented and supported by an active user-community and while still considered by many as one of the most robust and flexible home automation packages available, however, suffers from numerous shortfalls due to the antiquated technologies it was originally built with.  Releasing this software suite as open source would allow this passionate user-community to update the software to current technology.

So, by signing this petition, we ask that Motorola release the source code of Premise Home Control, including engine, tool chain, utilities, etc. under an Open Source license so that the Open Source Community can continue to support and improve it.

Thanks for signing this petition!
