This petition is to request that Parliament investigate OpCapita LLP for the way of it's handling of Comet Ltd since it's purchase in February 2012 from Kesa Electricals Plc (now known as Darty Plc) We would also like you to force clarification from Henry Jackson, Managing Partner and CEO of OpCapita in the way that Comet Ltd has been operated since it's purchase in February. OpCapita claim that it invested £35 million of its own money into the company but was also given £50 million from Kesa when the purchase was completed. Did any of that money get invested? Where did the money from the sales of stock go? As it obviously wasn't on stock replenishment? Why were we all kept in the dark about where the company was heading? Why did we, as staff, have to find out about going into administration from the media and not directly from OpCapita? If Comet Ltd was in such a sorry state of affairs, why was Chris Pavlosky, a former Dixons Stores Group Operations Manager (main competition) hired as an interim services director for the sum of approx £1000 a day? It's also worth mentioning that John Clare who was also appointed by OpCapita as Chairman, was also a former Dixons Stores Group Employee as Group Chief Executive. The promise was made that OpCapita would turn our fortunes around. Yet all that's happened is that we've been stripped down piece by piece until the company wasn't self sustainable any more. The staff of Comet deserve to know everything regarding it's downfall as we are currently working under the shadow of redundancy on a day to day basis with no communication from OpCapita whatsoever. The staff at Comet are expected to carry on doing our jobs, making money for the administrators to give to the creditors of which OpCapita will be one to make the most gain. We should not lose our jobs due to an obvious short term investment. Why should this company be allowed to profit from 6600+ members of staff losing their jobs?
