Name: Pat Morrison on Jan 10, 2008Comments: I hope the Democrats take this seriously and do not let the Republicans get credit for being more open minded, and progressive than our Party. It is embarrassing to think the Democrats are the problem in getting this legislation passed (at long last!) This is 2008, and it is time to get withe the times. The downstate Democrats, as represented by Mr. Venables, make the excuse that they are representing their constituents, and it is simplys just that, an excuse. The leaders need to lead and need to make their case to the constituents if this is really the reason for obstructing this needed change. I have a very hard time believing this is really the view of constituents, however. I believe the truth is that opening up government would get more involvement by the public, which would mean the public would have to be answered to. Now the "Old Boy" system works very well for the members of the legislature who need not explain themselves to the public. I wonder where did this all start. Whose idea of democracy is this anyway Pat MorrisonFlag

Name: Bill Pearson on Jan 10, 2008Comments: Dear Mr. Adams, You have promised that you will let your committee discuss SB4, this year. Please do this in the 1st quarter, not the last. In my opinion; you have an incredible opportunity to leave your legacy as the most important legislator who took Delaware into the 21st Century by allowing this discussion to happen. The Internet is here. Instant, interactive dialog between people will only increase and the result will be all the "old rules" will change. Sooner or later Delaware citizens will have an OPEN GENERAL ASSEMBLY. Thank you for your 30+ years of service. Sincerely, Bill PearsonFlag
