Comments: Please take this petition seriously. Not only am I a fan of the sport of MMA but I am a business owner as well, and due to our strugleing economy my business has almost gone under. Legalizing MMA in our province will not only generate a flock of spending tourists into this province, I can gaurentee it will allow my business to grow, allowing me to hire new employees and make some of the unemployed employed. I don't quite think our government completely realizes just how big of an oppourtunity this can be for Ontario and it's residences. I emplore you to please look into the sucess Montreal has had with these events and realize the potential. We as a society would be fools not to seriously consider making this sport legal. Thank you

Comments: Not Legalizing Mixed Martial Arts is a crime upon itself. You are denying top level athletes the opportunity to compete in Canada's most popular cities (Toronto,Ottawa). How can Mixed Martial Arts be illegal in any Canadian city? I mean Georges St Pierre is currently cementing his legacy in MMA, a proud canadian who is nothing but gracious, polite to everyone including his opponents in and outside of the cage. Canada has a love for mixed martial arts that goes deep and you can not deny that. When the UFC came to montreal it sold out within hours. Canada has some of the best athletes in the sport including Sam stout, Patrick Cote, Mark Homonick and Carlos Newton. It is almost a slap in the face to these athletes and their fans who dedicate themselves, their lives to MMA. Nothing they do is illegal however in Ontario they still cannot fight a sanctioned fight. Not to mention all the gym's located in Ontario and all the up and coming talent that is currently training in these different art forms and yes fighting techniques when performed at there best truly are works of art. Look at Anderson Silva's striking or BJ Penn's BJJ, it's truly amazing to watch. The simple fact is MMA has evolved from two men in a cage slugging it out. It has evolved into the combination of different fighting techniques that have been studied for century's all over the world. It really is the most pure form of sport that exists in the world today. Stop living in the past because the simple fact is Ontario loves MMA. I love MMA. Stop delaying the inevitable and legalize Mixed Martial Arts in Ontario.

Comments: This is long overdue in Ontario. It would provide a great economical boost to the province. In terms of the sport being dangerous, it is far safer than boxing, as the number of serious brain injuries in boxing is rather high. If you look at a boxer who had a 15 year career it's heartbreaking to see the toll their sport took on them. However, if you look at a mixed martial artist who has been at it for 15 years, it is obvious that they are in much better physical, and mental shape.
