Given the increasing importance of bloods results which rely on being transported on ice (for example arterial and venous blood gases, lactate in suspected sepsis, ammonia in encephalopathic patients), we feel that the difficulty in acquiring crushed ice is seriously impairing patient care.

Currently to send some basic tests, on what are most likely your most ill patients, you have to hunt around the hospital for some ice before you even get to trying to take the sample. This should be a trivial problem to fix, making your life easier, and the patient's care safer. We just need enough names to show the Trust that this is a very real problem.
