Name: T.Osborne on May 13, 2011Comments: I use this shuttle service to Earls Court very frequently and at different times of day. The only other practical way to get to Earls Court to get onto the rest of the network is to walk, which takes a good 15 minutes along Warwick Road and is highly polluted and noisy, as well as being disagreeable in foul weather. Buses are not really an alternative. You need to use two and to suffer all the traffic jams of the Earls Court Road. It's quicker to walk, but the shuttle service, even at 20 minute intervals, is usually reliable. It used to be every 15 minutes which was better still.Flag

Name: Suzanne Burke on May 13, 2011Comments: To put five trains on the Wimbledon line for two hours in the morning leaving nothing for all the people who use the Olympia spur is irresponsible, stupid, and bad. Obviously the people who thought of this plan had not thought of the people who rely on this spur and what inconvenience this would cause, to cavalierly deny a service to an entire area while not noticably alleviating a problem elsewhere.Flag

Name: Kaarina Meyer on May 14, 2011Comments: Having lived at Olympia since 1975 when there was only a train service at Exhibition times, which was worse than useless for local residents and people working in the area as you could never count on it, it was such a relief and triumph when the service, having grown a micro-step at a time over the years, finally became a normal full-time one. I cannot believe that this step backward is even being considered. It's disgusting and makes a mockery of the pretense to public service. PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS!Flag

Name: Philena Bruce on May 15, 2011Comments: Please don't close the underground at Olympia. As well as numerous people using it to get to work, many of us use it to go out in the evening and to come back home. If it was closed, then many of us who can't walk long distances would need to use buses and taxis, which would put older and frailer people off going out. You used to have 4 trains an hour, now it's 3 and that is very inconvenient, particular when trains are cancelled without warning, however getting rid of it entirely would damage the area, and no doubt be reflected in falling house prices.Flag

Name: Ed Smith on May 15, 2011Comments: It seems odd to upgrade the station and then close the underground line so soon after the investment. I also use the overground service which is already extremely busy in the mornings and I doubt it has the necessary capacity to take on the Olympia district line traffic. Please keep it open or at least modify the service so that it remains viable for all parties - it is a vital ink to the district line and the Olympia area.Flag

Name: TiffanyDawn Waddleton on May 15, 2011Comments: I'm very disgusted by how the TFL seems to be trying to sweep this change under the rug. They are supposed to be in a 'public consultation' period yet don't even have any signs up at Olympia Station to tell about this change which in effects makes it impossible for people to object, as they are unaware of the proposed change. I only found out as someone directly told me. I use the Olympia line every day to get to work. The West Brompton station as a changeover as suggested by TFL is definitely not an acceptable alternative for me as I would need to take the Overground from Olympia to West Brompton, then either walk to Earls Court or take the tube into Earls Court then change for the Richmond Line. I’ve run the numbers and this will add about 15minutes each way, meaning an extra ½ hour a day to travel time from what it is now. Also the 'alternate stations’ they mentioned also add 15-25 minutes each way (minimum), meaning an extra 30 – 50 minutes to the day. All for this little change! And that is assuming no delays – the more changes, the greater chance of delays. I also believe that it will greatly hurt the business in the area. They flow of people going to Olympia Exhibition centre has increased massively over the past year and as Earls Court becomes defunct will continue increase in traffic. When I board the tube train at Olympia every morning between 7:30 am- 8:00am, the train is mostly full of those getting off, meaning that it is not underutilised. Changing the weekday service to this station will lead to companies no longer showing at the venue as it becomes too cumbersome to get to for visitors, many who are from our of town. Suggested alternative: Instead of cutting the Olympia line as proposed, a better idea is to have the Olympia line run to Edgware Road station. Lastly, I would encourage TFL to extend their ‘consultation’ and to adequately publicise it at the station so that people have a chance to express their views. Anything less is unfair and a breach of trust.Flag
