Megan Davis | As an Ohio Alum ('97), I am disappointed to see the elimination of 3 great Bobcat teams. This decision definitely needs to be revoked. Part of the spirit of Ohio U. comes from the energy and ambience of its athletic teams.
Doug Brown | Ohio University has not given adequate consideration to other alternatives. I will not donate one penny to this institution as long as these misguided attempts to comply with Title IX persist.
Cynthia Closkey | These activities are important to the individuals involved with the teams and to the university as a whole. Please find a way to fit them into the budget.
Robert L. Good, Jr. (OHIO U.1980) | I would not be a high school T&F coach for the past 26 years without my experiences and classes taken through HPER @ Ohio University.
Dean P. Edwards |
| 2606 | shirley nasipak | Our reaction has been that it makes no sense at all after seeing what was spent to send staff /relatives of staff to the football bowl game. Also, this administration has made it a point to take the focus off of activities that they find undesirable on campus . Then they cut programs that have men and women promoting Ohio University in a healthy activity by proudly wearing their Lacrosse, Track, and swimming uniforms, and participating in events where they represent Ohio University in a positive way

stuart hamilton | my family has 8 members that have attended and 7 have finished with 1 still there trying to finish ! we all have been succesful in different ways but always considered ou a fair place to go ? but may i say one thing with some back ground ,the current president didn't have programs cut on his group !!

OHIO
LET'S GO BOBCATS!! |
Anne Takacs | keep all the sports.
Tonya Miller | I think OU needs to do everything it can possibly do to keep these sports!! I ran Cross Country for OU my Senior year, as a walk-on. I wouldn't trade the experience for anything!! Others should get the opportunity!!

David Mirth | Athletices are an important part of higher education. Cutting these sports is the same as reducing the available curricula in the classroom

Darnell Mitchell | Once a'' BOBCAT'' always a BOBCAT --Go Cats
Kathy W. Thompson | Please save OU men's track!!!!
| 2630 | Anonymous | As an OU alum and father of a HS senior swimmer, this is absolutely disappointing. I spoke to the OU swim coaches last summer about my son's future visit. I asked the question - is the program on the 'chop' list? They said no and I understand they were very shocked.
An indoor football facility for OU ... why ? |
Everrett G. | This was simply a mistake. However, i caution some of the signees here to stop pointing the finger at the football team and program as the "great evil" that caused this. For the individuals that did so you should be ashamed of yourself. The members of the football team are still your athletic brothern! They are not the one's that caused this. Stop using them as a scapegoat to a bigger issue and look deeper. Next, the thought of "we're not Oklahoma or Florida." "We're just little ol Ohio U. and can't compete with the bigs." is simply COMPLACENCY talking! Boise St. and George Mason have proved in recent years that the smaller universities can in fact compete with the bigs and should! The problem is other avenues were not explored prior to making a final decision and its that simple.
james snyder | These student athletes need more opportunities, not less. Is OU hiding behind Title IX like James Madison University? Shame on them for these lies! Save OU and JMU Sports!

Marci Wixted | Outrageous. Best of luck to the teams on being reinstated.
Emily | Keep men's swimming!
Emily | These people are ruining these kids dreams.
David Kaufmann |
Brie Campbell | Even though I have never heard of Ohio's Men's Swimming and Diving Team, I am a part of a swim team in Sheffield, AL. and I think for those who truly love the sport, it's a crime to take it away. I wish you the best of luck in getting your sport teams back!
Greg Johnson | I am a graduate of OU (1971) with a 16 year old son who wants to swim in college. We thought OU would be a good fit for him. I guess not. I know of no other sport that demands as much time and energy as swimming. Are we to tell our sons that the sacrifices they have made in order to excell at the sport they love were all for nothing? This decision sets a bad precedent that I am sure other athletic directors will soon follow.
Carol Knight |
Julia | I think that its very wrong to stop swimming in this university. Think about all the people who wanted to have future careers as swimmers or that came on a swimming scholarship. They'll be heart-broken. Dont you care?
