Greg Boehm | As an graduate of OU's 200th class, I am truly apalled to hear about this development. Please reconsider your decision to allow those students who desire to partake in collegiate sports other than football the opportunity to represent themselves, as well as OU, in the vast sporting world that encompasses the NCAA.

Dan Sininger | I undersand budgets are tight both at the corporat -level and at our public institutions. To an earlier point, has the alumn association or other focus group recommended or sought other funding sources?
Gregg Mambourg | 1970 grad - if football lost $1.3M then cut the football budget. It's been almost 40 years since a football championship was won and the university has supposedly flourished. Obviously another 40 years won't serious jeopardize the university.

Steve Hertsch | As a freshman parent of lacrosse, eliminating 4 of OU sports and effecting the lives of these students was totally unnecessary and disrespectful. The $4million deficit was never mentioned when these students were recruited, and to let your coaches continue to recruit was so very wrong. It is not easy to make a 4year commitment to a college and the decision you made didn't keep the students of OU at heart. SHAME on all involved making such a terrible, hurtful decision.

Bill Henry | Being able to play sports is a critical part of why so many of us went to smaller schools. The connections we formed as teammates and as representatives of our schools have persisted since. Moreover, my time at Earlham demonstrated convincingly that lacrosse attracts students from outside the Midwest and increases school diversity. It is a shame in these days of creative funding and philanthropic largess that an institution as esteemed as OU would let such a rash and unilateral decision occur.
James Joyce | If it were not for OU track I would not have been a Bobcat. I am one, but how many more might not follow?
Elizabeth Tremblay | I am a member of the women's rowing team that was cut from the University of Cincinnati this fall. I am fighting the same battle. Athletic departments need to respect ALL athletes.

Jeffry Zimmer | As a alumni I am very disappointed in OU swimming being canceled. My son was accepted to OU and was to swim for fall 2007. He will now go to the University of Rhode Island, along with my yearly controbutions. If OU changed there decision he would still atend OU.
Adam | Bring back Ohio sports!!

Colleen Fruhwirth | I don't know how you can justify spending $20m on one sport while cutting the other sports. I am sure the other sports bring in a great deal of tution monies since thier scholarships are not as generous as the football program. You need to consider the message you are sending out to your students as well as potential students. This obsession with football as the savior of colleges is sickening.

Denise Tregear | Lacrosse is a growing sport over all the continents, please reconsider.....
Nancy McCrea | I regret this decision by the University. Swimming, Track and Lacrosse are of the more gentle sports and a great asset to the community and character of OU. Please reconsider.
Linda Moquin | I am a swimmer and cannot imagine a University without a swim team - especially the size of OU and the quality of swimmers here. Track and Lacrosse are also sports without excessive "brawn" and add to the positive culture of an educational institution.
Jonathan Forgey | Save the swimming team please. we have such a great tradition.
Paul Ramsey | Please consider giving the teams a chance to propose alternate funding sources if none such sources exist within your University budget.
