Name: Joseph Davis on May 3, 2010Comments: After seeing the HUGE turnout at this weekends Dog Daze at Frontierland, it is evident that Pacifica needs a dog park. I am also the person on the Tribune's cover a couple weeks ago with my dog Rocco. I am exploring events like Dog daze and the fog fest to possibly bring dog jumping to Pacifica. It's a real crowd draw. Pacifica is a great dog town, lets make it better since the beaches are basically leash only. Our best, Joe & Rocco of RockawayFlag

Name: Anonymous on May 12, 2010Comments: I am considering relocating to Pacifica. The only problem is the lack of dog parks. I am disabled and cannot give my dog the exercise she needs without letting her off leash at the dog park to run and play with other dogs every day. Please make this happen -- the sooner, the better! In my experience, dog parks attract responsible dog owners who work together and self-police easily, creating a safe, friendly environment in which to provide a vital component of dog care, incidentally strengthening communities in the process.Flag

Name: Stan Lieberman on Jul 8, 2010Comments: My niece lives in Ft.Collins Colo. ; their solution was a fenced city maintained dog park; paid for by selling yearly access tokens/badges to the dog people that want to have access. The tokens cost $100. a year . I think our Park and Rec Dept could use that extra money in thier budget, especially being they have to cut the grass and empty barrels anyway!Flag

Name: Kimberly Day on May 16, 2011Comments: I think a dog park is definitely needed in this city as there are so many dogs, but not enough open space off leash areas to go to. I have to say, though, unless a fenced in area for dogs is very large (as compared to the too-small parks I've seen like the one in Half Moon Bay where I would never take my dog), these parks are a dog fight waiting to happen. Dogs instinctively get aggressive when there are many of them confined to a small area. I've had dogs my whole life, and living here in the Bay Area is the first time I've had to worry about where my dog can be a dog (usually long hikes into the hills, or Fort Funston takes care of it). If this park gets built, I really hope common sense is used and the size is taken into consideration. There are too many irresponsible dog owners with out of balance dogs who would be the first ones to make a small dog park the worst place to be with your dog.Flag
