Neighborhood robberies have always been a part of Old Dominion University, but on campus robberies have not. Since the beginning of the Fall 2010 semester, there have been approximately five on campus robberies, one of which happened in a heavily populated part of the campus, at 8:15pm on a Tuesday night; this has scared many Monarchs (students, faculty and staff alike). We need to let the university administration that we will not stand for being threatened on campus. It is their job to keep us safe and this job is not being done. Tuition goes up every year and not a penny of it seems to be going towards safety, if it is, the administration needs to tell us the truth and say what improvements it is going towards. I would rather be safe and alive than go to a football game or a concert.
