Comments: Reforming player conduct will never work unless there is both transparency and consistency in the process. This ruling exhibits that your office is sorely lacking in both. Why did the suspension get extended for a FULL YEAR Why are other players (c.f. Jared Allen, Joey Porter, even Chris Henry) hit with significantly lighter suspensions Until these questions are clarified, the league office loses all legitimacy in the eyes of fans and players.

Comments: Find it odd that Merriman pops for steroid use and only gets four games. Porter can assault another person/player in a Las Vegas casino and not receive any suspension. Meanwhile Thurman gets suspended for a year for a missed drug test and DUI, and from all reports complies with all terms of his suspension and fails to be reinstated. Seems rather absurd.

Comments: Mr. Goodell, Why did Odell Thurman get an additional year suspension. It seems that certain people receive punishment out of preportion to thier crimes and other indeviduals punishments. Compare Thurman's extention of suspension to Joey Porter's none suspension for assualting another NFL player, Jarred Allen having several conduct and substance abuse issues and only being suspended for two game, or even Pac Man Jones' action which have resulted in a person being paralized and being suspended for one year. I for one would like to know why this decision to suspend Odel Thurman for an additional year.

Comments: Odell is not Goodells biggest problem. He should be handing suspensions like this to players with more serious accusations against them. Odell should be reinstated and be allowed to play in 07. Unless Goodell is not telling something to the public he has no reason to suspend Odell.

Comments: Players such as Michael Vick and Pacman Jones have committed crimes far worse than that of Odell Thurman, yet their punishments are light compared to that of the young Cincinnati linebacker. A two year suspension for drug problems is not as serious as dog fighting and gun crimes.

Comments: I was very disappointed in the ruling on Odell Thurman. I feel that if Odell had been on another team his punishment would be less severe. By doing this Goodell is saying that the Cincinnati Bengals are thugs and will never be anything but thugs so ANY transgressions from the law will result in a permanent ban from the NFL. Now if Odell has not served the terms of his suspension, why can't we the fans and supporters of the NFL know what he did to violate those terms. I think that is just irresponsible on the part of Roger Goodell. I just can't believe that people like Joey Porter, Michael Vick, Pacman Jones and Tank Johnson who have shown far less maturity and responsibility are allowed to wear their teams uniforms, but then again it would be different if they were Cincinnati Bengals. Fire Goodell.

Comments: This makes Odell the most punished player so far. Two years is too much. You take a guy who has nothing but football to build a good life on, a guy who is passionate for the game and is a good sportsmen. A guy who paid his dues, did what was asked of him and got recommended from his rehab workers. All that and his reward is another year suspension. Roger Goodell, with all due respect, I feel as if you've been making a negative impact on the NFL. Penalties and punishments have not been uniform and on an even keel based on the crimes committed. One player attacks another player in a public place and receives a 1% signing bonus penalty. Another guy gets a DUI and gets suspended for almost 2 full seasons. I dont understand the logic in that.

Comments: I would like an answer on way Odell is being set up for failure by Roger Goodell, it does the man no good to not have any hope of playing the sport he loves and I hope Roger has a good reson for destroying a mans life unnecessarily. Odell would be better off on ther field then out doing nothing with no hope.
