OCEAN VIEW REZONING APPLICATION
I would like to register my support for the application for a rezoning
of the properties P-650, 650.01 from R-1 To GB and a contiguous piece
of land from Institutional to GB.
- The land is appropriately located at a signalized intersection
of Rt.26 & West Avenue, which greatly enhances resolving traffic
concerns that may be inherit in this approval.
-New site plans will be an opportunity for this section of town to get
sidewalks and landscaping that will enhance the streetscape of this
segment of Rt.26
-This site is an ideal location for business activities within the Town
-Residences in need of services or retail items that live south of
Rt.26 could reach the site on West Avenue without having to access
Rt.26. This could result in less traffic on Rt.26 due to it's location.
-The parcels in question have been utilized for business activities for decades
-The request is in line with the Towns' Comprehensive Plan
-A redevelopment of this sit would enhance stormwater quality and
quantity issues over the present non-existing stormwater measures
I believe that this request is in keeping with smart growth and the
Town has an opportunity through the site planning phase to greatly
enhance the streetscape of a major corridor within the town.
