Comments: More developers should seek support in this transparent manner and then with community support GCCC should provide approvals on that basis as they, are after all, employed by all of us.

Comments: The proposed development is a dramatic improvement on the eyesore that currently occupies the site . Height of 6 or 7 floors is not a major consideration as there is 6 or seven story building east of the proposed development and another of 8 floors to the north . . The proposed building does not throw shadow onto the beach .A cafe is handy there close to holiday makers and permanents . Let the development proceed . J potter

Comments: It is ridiculous that you can't build a highrise the same height as one already there.

Comments: council needs to pull their heads out of the sand and realise that when your building on land worth that kind of money, the development has to be a certain height and has to be of a certain quiality. just because some planner 'doesnt like it' should have no bearing on a decision. The should be sacked and someone who can read plans and understands the fibres of development be put in their place. its mermaid beach, where there are at least 5 buildings that are 7 story. just like when building a duplex, they only want 2 story, but there are plenty there with 5 and 6 story heights. why is that????????

Comments: Once again it would appear that Council Officers are acting in no one’s interest but their own. Common sense should dictate that a building of the same height as an existing building next door is acceptable. There is far more support for this project than objection, not everyone will get the outcome they wish for but Council officers should make the decision based on the benefit to the whole community rather than the objections of the minority.

Comments: As the landscape designer of this project, I highly commend the developer and architect of 'Oceana' for their creative vision and seemless integration of this building and its extensive green spaces into this corner site. Extensive consideration has been given to the soft and hard street-scaping where unfortunately very few buildings along Albatross and Hedges Avenue have.
