    Have a personal story to share? do it here!!: As a heterosexual person and a resident of Orange County who voted for you, I ask you to please support the domestic partner registry for our wonderful county. I cannot predict my future, but I would feel so much more comfortable if I could have the choice of who makes my emergency healthcare decisions for me, whether it be a long-term partner or husband. From a professional view, I am currently obtaining my Masters of Arts in Mental Health Care within Orange County, and the LGBT population is the main group of people I will be focusing on working with. As an advocate for my potential future clients, if you do approve of the domestic partner registry, their quality of life will increase. They will have the peace of mind that the people who care most for them will be able to make important decisions for them when they cannot. Whether for myself or my fellow community members, we are all adults and need to be given the opportunity to make these decisions. Please uphold the respect for your constituents which I believe you to have.

    Have a personal story to share? do it here!!: Ms. Jacobs-as a resident of Orange County I am asking you to make the right decision and pass Registry. As a gay male I find that it is getting more and more difficult to continue living in a state that openly does not welcome me. The constitutional amendment passed in 2008 was a devastating blow to the gay community, as well as the senior citizen population in our state. By you passing this Registry it will provide protection for me and my partner that we no longer have available. In addition, this Registry will show the state and the country that Orlando is a fantastic place to live-opening us up to a variety of new economic development opportunities.

    Have a personal story to share? do it here!!: My girlfriend and I will be registering in Orlando for domestic partnership. Unfortunately she works in a delivery job and is not always within Orlando city limits. I hate to think of what would happen if she was in an accident and is transported to a hospital outside the orlando city limits. I would never even be told that something had happened. Domestic partnership is very important to me because of what could happen and shows that there are goverment officials that are willing to take the baby steps needed towards true equality. Providing this service to Orange County will be the stepping stone needed to get all other counties to join.

It's not just anti-gay, it's anti-american since there are both straight and gay couples needing this!

    Have a personal story to share? do it here!!: A friend of mine in Oakland (Orange County) went to Health Central with his partner who was extremely ill. As my friend tried to explain to the nurse what had happened, the nurse told my friend to shut up, he didn't have a right to say anything, and that he didn't want to listen to that gay stuff. I live in Winter Garden and do not want that to happen to me if I need to take my partner to the hospital. Please help.
