Name: Pat Reaves on Apr 24, 2010Comments: I applaud the efforts of the Oklahoma Bicycling Coalition and the Oklahoma Department of Tourism and Recreation to develop Route 66 for bicycle tourists. I believe it could be a significant attraction that will serve the communities along the route. Cycle tourists travel slowly and are likely to spend time and money in the small towns along the route.Flag

Name: Tanya Brown on Apr 24, 2010Comments: I think this is a GREAT way to promote bicycle touring in our state! I would love for touring cyclists to make OK a destination to ride Route 66. Not only would it promote a healthy lifestyle, it would encourage tourism in a totally different arena.Flag

Name: Andrew Maddox on Apr 24, 2010Comments: One of the drawbacks of cycling is the risk of riding on roads with vehicles passing at high speeds. Some stretches of road have a nice shoulder, but they are not reliable and typically force you into the road when there is a bridge. I would like to see Route66 designated as a cycling corridor for our state.Flag

Name: Susan Lash on Apr 24, 2010Comments: This will be very good for our state, both in terms of tourism, transportation and the health of Oklahomans. I have encountered many people that say they would love to ride or ride with their kids, but don't feel safe to do so. Oklahoma should make every effort to make bicycling safe.Flag
