The Purpose of This Petition: Nov 29. 2012 | Comments (0)
This "petition" may be somewhat inaccurately termed. It is really more of a declaration than a petition. This "petition" is not intended to be delivered to any government office, and no longer hopes to have the government respond in a positive manner by constraining its actions, and exhibiting responsible, constitutional government.
The purpose of this writing is a declaration, as with the original Declaration of Independence, declaring our freedom from the tyranny we see being exercised routinely by a government no longer adhering to the Constitution, a "long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object", no longer limiting government's actions to the enumerated powers therein, and no longer exercising its sole purpose even as clearly stated in the Declaration of Independence, to secure those rights of Life, Liberty and Pursuit of happiness.
The purpose of this "petition" is not to appeal to government, but rather alert the citizens of these United States to the fact that we are still entitled to the protection of our unalienable rights which are secured by the Constitution, and five members of the Supreme Court are unable to legitimately validate actions by government which are inherently in conflict with the Law of the Land. We the people are still sovereign, and must now unite in defiance against what is undeniably a tyrannous and unlawful government.
Aside: a signature has commented that I am making "a HUGE assumption here ... that the GOVERNMENT is operating under our Constitution." I sure hope it is obvious to most readers that the 'petition' is nowhere assuming the government is operating under the constitution, and on the contrary, actually clearly, repeatedly and adamantly indicates that the government, and even the Supreme Court, are in fact not operating according to the Constitution.
