Name: Juliana Monachesi on Nov 30, 2012Comments: I'm an art critic from Brazil who felt stunned by Mr. Johnson's lack of knowledge and, mainly, the lack of effort to make a minimal research on brazilian art when he wrote about Carlito Carvalhosa's installation at MoMA.Flag

Name: M Forrestall on Nov 30, 2012Comments: This petition is WITHOUT Merit. NYTimes please ignore it. Mr. Villalongo is misquoting BOTH stories in a flagrant grab for attention and drama in a transparent bullying of a critic under the guise of being Politically correct. NYTimes allow the article to remain as is and not bow to any attempt on this group's part to demean the review. Mr. Villalongo's position at Yale where he is in a position to lecture and propigate his misguided and misinformed views should be be assessed.Flag

Name: Rebecca Keller on Nov 30, 2012Comments: Having been in the art world a long time, and spent a lot of time in rooms with (usually white, male, European) curators and art historians, the opinions expressed in these reviews were familiar--in 1989. Thankfully, most of us have come to more complex understandings and recognized the subtle and innumerable ways such a world view, when considered normative, functions to push everything else to the margins. And how the terms with which we discuss Cubism and DaDa--which were advanced almost 100 years ago--are perhaps not the only, or best, ways to discuss contemporary art made in America? Truly, some of the most clueless reviews I have ever read.Flag
