| 2 | Padraig Kitterick | As a past member of the NYOI and ex-staff member, I truely believe that any move to join the two orchestras should involve the players, past and present, and especially those current staff and board members who have experienced participating in the NYOI under the two-orchestra setup. |

| 11 | Colette Hamel | I am horrified at the news of the intended merger of the 2 youth orchrstras and feel it is a backward step and most inappropriate. The age gap between the youngest and oldest players would not make for good cohesion among players.I am strongly opposed to it and sincerely hope that it will be reconsidered. |

| 22 | Margaret McCarthy | hi, i played in the orchestra at the age of around 15. it was a great opportunity to play with a high standard of orchestra, but at the same time, not too difficult for a competant young player. if the age goes up to 21, the standard will be too high for the younger players who will miss out on this opportunity. do not merge the 2 orchestras. |
| 23 | Candice Hamel | I am very angry that they are thinking about merging the two orchestras. I feel the merge will alter the extrememly high standard the National Youth Orchestra has at the moment and deprive a lot of young Irish musicians of the fantastic learning experience I had for 3 years with the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland. |
| 24 | Siobhan Hearne | |
| 25 | Matthew Berrill | I think it's an appalling decision, to amalgamate the two orchestras. That means that anly half the amount of students will be able to experience the amzaing feeling of playing together in a quality orchestra. A sad decision to make. |
| 26 | Jimmy Kinahan | this is a disgrace, never has our country had so much money and now more than ever .
please do not go ahead with this |

| 40 | Dr. Finola O'Kane Crimmins | The National Youth Orchestra's primary goal and responsibility is as an educational institution. As a member of the youth orchestra, I experienced at first hand that it is not possible to create a learning environment and to manage under-18 and over-18 members simultaneously due to Ireland's drink culture.
With regard to the NYO's other educational responsibility; namely its role in educating Ireland's young musicians in the broad tradition of classical and orchestral music, I agree that conductors of international calibre and standing advance and develop this pedagogical goal. I also think it unfortunate that the NYO's creation and continuance by the voluntary work of many people should be denigrated to the extent that it now is now clearly reverting to its past mistakes and not building upon what has been so clearly achieved in the past decade. |

| 48 | Ian Fox | As someone who was there at the very first weekend in 1969 I am deeply distreesed at this retrograde step and appeal to the Board to reverse their impetuous step, and get on with the job of finding a new Director. |
| 49 | caitriona Frost | |
| 50 | Gretta Daly | I believe that not having a junior youth orchestra will mean the loss of a wonderful formulative opportunity for younger musicians (especially those from smaller towns and rural areas) to play in a full size and higher standard orchestra. Particularly significant for those, like myself, who decide not to go into music professionally and for whom the experience can be an inspiration for a lifetime of appreciation and performance on the amateur scene. |
