Dear Governor Cuomo and the New York State Legislature: We call on you to pass the Comprehensive NY Dream Act, which will extend the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) to undocumented students so that they can access college, graduate, and reach their full potential to fully contribute to our state. A decade ago, New York led the nation by allowing undocumented students to pay instate tuition rates at its public universities. Today, Texas, New Mexico, and California have outpaced New York by extending their tuition assistance programs to undocumented students to access college because they recognize the social and economic benefits of doing so.
