Comments: Absoloutely, child care in the ealry years is a critical step in a childs development. And these grants are imperative to keeping the costs lower, so that families can afford it. This should be at the top of the list in priorities that NY State has every single year.

Comments: Child care is a struggle for every family - not just poor working families. Even young professionals who by definition would not be considered in poverty are struggling with the high costs.

Comments: Funding needs to remain intact for the birth to 4 year old programs. The financial impact on children who are not proprely serviced during this time will only increase the funding that will be required to catch them up when they get to a UPK program and have not mastered developmental milestones and had intervention when they are lacking in areas. This will set them up for failure as they are put into the school system when intervention could have played a vital role when catching issues form birth - 4. It will cost taxpayers more money to undo this in the future. Why would those who need assitance most- children be cut from funding.
