For pedestrians in the crosswalks there is a timer that counts down showing how long you have to cross the intersection successfully. I have noticed that every time the timer for crosswalks hit "0" then the light changes. If this technology can be added to the traffic lights with cameras, this will cause less accidents and prevent less people from blowing through a red light because they will know when the light will be changing from green to yellow to red.
