Why should our loved ones who have made a mistake spend up to 10 years in prison for crimes that could be handled as misdemenors Instead of spending our tax money for their upkeep and our loved ones rot in prison, let them be free and work and pay for,out of their own pocket for drug programs, anger management,or even let them be under a working house arrest to pay for their fines that they owe back to the state for their crimes instead of them staying in prison and doing nothing. Our America is way over budget and can cut the budget by the millions by letting the NONVIOLENT offenders out and work and the states can also get their money back from the fines the Prisoners owe. Instead of nothing and tax payers have to keep up the prisoners who are able to work. The Nonviolent offenders such as drug users, can work and be put back and be productive in society if given a chance to do so and if the Nonviolent offenders violate their release then the state can give them a tougher sentence and stiffer fines. Release the NONVIOLENT offenders and give them drug tests, mandatory rehab, and probation. DOING SOMETHING IS BETTER THAN NOTHING!
