151 Jack FergusonScottish Socialist Youth at its conference ;ast weekend overwhlmingly passed an amendment giving full support to the parliament workers. The relevant text is extracted below: -SSY notes the resolution of the NUJ Chapel for SSP workers in the Scottish Parliament. Further notes that Tommy Sheridan and Rosemary Byrne MSPs have withdrawn their funds from the SSP pool for employing parliamentary staff. This means that they have broken an agreed contract of employment with these workers, and demands that sufficient funds are allowed to be in the SSP parliamentary group pool to prevent redundancies. -SSY recognises that Sheridan and Byrne were elected on SSP lists rather than as individuals. Therefore, to allow the voters to be properly represented, and to allow there to be sufficient funds to pay staff properly until the end of their contracts, SSY fully endorses the call from the SSP for Sheridan and Byrne to resign as MSPs and be replaced by SSP members. www.ssy.org.uk

169 Fiona BayneI am a voter for SSP and concur with the above and especially feel that it is completely unacceptable for 2 voted MSPs to withdraw monies set aside to pay workers wages up to the end of their contracts.

172 Les RobertsonTommy Sheridan & Rosemary Byrne are behaving like the worst employers that they have complained about in the past. They should honour their committments to the parliamentary staff and continue to contribute towards all staffing costs.
173 Sandra MurphySolidarity means just that. An injury to one is an injury to all. Support the SSP Parliamentary workers.
174 june biegalayou have my support
175 Mike DAn absolute disgrace for supposed socialists to treat their staff like this. But then, with Sheridan, he continues to amaze how low he will sink.

181 Alex CunninghamI think that it is a disgrace that two people who profess to be Trades Unionists and use the Trades Union movement at every opportunity should abrogate their responsibilities in this way.

185 John LaniganI support the NUJ in it's dispute with Tommy Sheridan and Rosemary Byrne, they should both be ashamed to call themselves socialists. Real socialists support workers rights.

198 Eddie DochertyYet another disgraceful episode by Sheridan. You're some socialist, Tommy.
199 John JamiesonTommy and Rosemary should do the right thing and repay the money back into the account otherwise they run the risk of losing all their credibility and right to be called socialists.
