After a long day at the beach, Nudist would get dressed and drive into Carpinteria and spend their money at shop and restuarants.... which in turn suported the community.

One of the bright spots to traveling south was Bates Beach. However, now that the beach is no longer a nude friendlyw beach I don't travel to the area any longer. I miss the volleyball games, the comradery, the freedom offered, the warm sand and the temperate water. The nudes made efforts to remove themselves from plain view by establishing the unofficial "drainpipe" boundry. Families were welcome and disrespectful behavior was discouraged.
