Name: James O'Hara on Apr 24, 2008Comments: I was a regular visitor to this beach for many years and would often go to the market or fast food locations north of th beach either before and after spending a very pleasant day at the beach. I have not been to either Ventura nor Santa Barbra since this beach was closed to clothing optional use. I would even be in favor of paying for parking if that would help open the beach again.US State: CAZIP code: 91402Flag

Name: Gregg & Mary A on Apr 30, 2008Comments: I recall during the summers of 1990 - 92 you could walk alng the strand of Bates Beach and see well behaved, self-policing Nudist..... Enjoying the surf and ocean waters. After a long day at the beach, Nudist would get dressed and drive into Carpinteria and spend their money at shop and restuarants.... which in turn suported the community. Unfortunately, because of a few selfish residence on the Point complaining that had to end. Yhis petition is to re-establish a Nudist Beach in Santa Baraba Again...... Please support this effort.....US State: CAZIP code: 90064Flag

Name: Anonymous on May 2, 2008Comments: As a former resident of Oxnard I would venture to Bates once a week for some sun and relaxation. However, now I have moved to Spokane, WA and can't make it as frequently. One of the bright spots to traveling south was Bates Beach. However, now that the beach is no longer a nude friendlyw beach I don't travel to the area any longer. I spend tourist dollars and would love to contribute to the area, please make that possible again. Eric ThompsonUS State: WAZIP code: 99223Flag

Name: David Feinner on May 2, 2008Comments: I visited this nude beach for over 20 years and found it safe, clean and enjoyable. The nudes kept order, were friendly and had a sense of community. I miss the volleyball games, the comradery, the freedom offered, the warm sand and the temperate water. The nudes made efforts to remove themselves from plain view by establishing the unofficial "drainpipe" boundry. Families were welcome and disrespectful behavior was discouraged. I wholeheartedly endorse the reinstatement of the nude section of Bates beach.US State: CAZIP code: 91324Flag
