Name: John Filar on Mar 2, 2010Comments: It seems ridiculous to bump players who are Super Sr. If they wish to play up they can elect to do so. By bumping Super Srs you take them away from a rating that they more than likely have been playing for years.. Then the only alternative they have is to sit out a yr is unacceptable, especially when they are on the downward cycle of playing!Flag

Besides, he would be the only person on his team. He is in his 60's, let him enjoy the few days he has left on the court with his friends. Doctor's orders! : )Flag

Name: David M. Kucharski on Mar 2, 2010Comments: I will be 62 years old in May, 2010, and have been rated a 4.0 for the past 12+ years. I have played and captained at the Adult, Senior and Super Senior level during that time. It would make no sense to say that after 12+ years at the 4.0 level I suddenly gained the skills and athleticism to move to a 4.5 level as a Super Senior. I firmly endorse a freeze at the Super Senior level (once a player reaches 60) and age consideration for Seniors.Flag

Name: Chuck Marvin on Mar 2, 2010Comments: Seniors should be allowed to play at a lower open rating: A 4.5 super senior is a 4.0 senior and a 3.5 open player. Something along these lines is needed. BTW I just turned 50.Flag

Name: James Naylor on Mar 3, 2010Comments: As a 4.0 Super Senior who also plays Regular Men's 4.0 and Senior 4.0, the recent upward adjustments in ratings appear to me to be unfair. This is particularly true with regard to Super Seniors who have been at, and in my opinion, should remain at the 4.0 rating level.Flag

Name: Lee Kennedy on Mar 3, 2010Comments: its unfair to not use age into the calculation of NTRP ratings. Age is clearly a factor. I play against 4.5 men over 60 all of the time and they just cant keep up with the younger guys anymore. and have to play there due to this flaw in the system. please correct it.Flag

Name: Donald Doles on Mar 4, 2010Comments: bumping a Super Senior to a higher level to create a different distribution of the whole group has no sound logic. A Super Senior player is not going to increase their actual skill level at an age of 60+. At a minimum, the player should have the opportunity to appeal their rating and be capable of maintaining the previous year's rating.Flag

Name: WAYNE H. PAGE on Mar 10, 2010Comments: I am 68 years old. I stopped playing tennis for 2 years bacause I was a 3.5 and was not close to being competitive. I came back last year after the 2 year lay off and was rerated as a 3.0. I stayed there last year was moved right back up to a 3.5 as of Jan. 1. I was a 3.5 when I was 50 years old and now I continue to be a 3.5. There is not enough weight placed on the ability of your playing partner in doubles. A good partner can make you look much better than you are. Wayne PageFlag
