Please sign this petition in support of starting a Gay Straight Alliance (GSA) at North Tonawanda High School. A GSA will provide a safer environment for our LGBT students. North Tonawanda is a stickler when it comes to the protection of supporting and standing up against the bullying that occurs towards LGBT students. It is my understanding that NTHS grossly mislead a former student whose desire was to start a GSA club back in 2005, when he was bullied with death threats, derogatory remarks and a sense of unwelcomness. It is also my understanding that the NTHS has refused same sex couples permission to purchase prom tickets together. The abuse will continue to go on unless we do something about it. "Students have legal rights in schools. You have the right to be protected from harassment and discrimination. And you have the right to form a Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) club. Knowing and understanding your legal rights will help you create a safer environment in your school through your GSA.
