Petition for Eutelsat to Resume NTDTV Broadcast in Asia
NTDTV is the only independent broadcaster of uncensored, free news to Mainland Chinese audiences. Over the last few years, NTDTV has been transmitting its broadcast signal via Eutelsat\'s W5 satellite. However, this broadcast was met with repeated interference. Following the 2005 contractual incident, NTDTV\'s signal over China again ceased abruptly recently. According to Eutelsat, the service interruption was caused by a power anomaly. However, to date Eutelsat has not provided any target dates for the resumption of the broadcast. We strongly call on Eutelsat to resume NTDTV\'s broadcast in Asia, avoid a repeat of the contractual scandal, and support the freedom of information in China
