-Many people are not aware that our provincial government does not fund the SPCA, even though the SPCA is mandated by the government to operate. For example, I was informed that the provincial government gave $3000 last year to the SPCA, while actual costs of investigations alone (animal cruelty/neglect) were in excess of $560,000.00. The SPCA animal shelters are overflowing and relying on donations for operation and maintenance is just not enough, this is a real crisis, and the government needs to finally do its part. - I urge EVERYONE to sign this petition, let's apply pressure on our government and MLA's to finally start putting animals causes on their list of priorities. -Thank you for your signatures, Jackie Dubois, Yarmouth, N.S.
