We, the citizens of New Providence, oppose any night lighting of the High School athletic fields because it would impose on neighbors, increase traffic and noise, and establish an ugly sports complex in the middle of our town. Further, it would cause parks, which were originally closed to prevent teenage drinking, to be reopened. We also request that any approvals for turf fields be haulted until disinterested experts address concerns about carcinogens and sanitation.
