Dear Neighbors,

Over the summer, Junction Ventures proposed a 50,000 sq ft, 3 story, 50 ft tall, apartment building on the east side of their property. Many of you attended the third Zoning Commission hearing on Sept 6th. Thank you! The Commission had a tie vote that resulted in the Petitioner (Junction Ventures) being denied approval for their project.  On Sept 18th, Junction Ventures made the decision to withdraw their proposal, thus taking it off the Sept 25th agenda for the City Council meeting.  Your letters, phone calls, attendance at meetings and general interest in this effort conveyed our dissatisfaction to our City Council members.

We continue to meet on this issue and we are asking each of you to sign this petition opposing residential rentals of any kind on Junction City's property.

Apartments, in general, have never been known to enhance neighborhoods or increase property values. Our experience with the Grandview Hotel, and the issues our neighbors are experiencing with the Villa Bordeaux apartments have caused us to be wary of any rental properties so close to our neighborhood.

It appears that Junction Ventures is returning with another proposal ... a 3 story building with parking and some amenities on the first floor and apartments on the 2nd and 3rd floors.  The building is essentially the same length, but now is deeper.  They now have 25 apartments, rather than the original 30 units.  In addition, exit and entrances to the building are located on Humboldt Road.

If you oppose apartments at this location, please sign the petition below.  We currently have 170+ signatures through this online petition as well as a paper petition that has been circulating.  We are looking to increase our numbers!  You can also forward the link if you know of others in our area who feel the same way.  The strength of our opposition to this project continues to be shown through this petition.  Many thanks!
