Name: Michael J. Kurish on Apr 11, 2008Comments: This is nothing more than a money grab by the city. Youngstown has failed to demostrate that they are good stewards of public funds. Why should more be given to them to squander. They have not even demostrated how they plan to use the additional funds or that it will have a positive impact on the valley. The city has a history of relying on the surrounding surburbs. We pay a 40% surcharge for our water. We pay 80% of the city's income tax revenue. We also now pay for the Metro Park.. How much is enough. What does the city have to offer to Austintown and Boardman in exchange. If the city is interested in regionalization a plan must be created that benefits all parties. Taxation has never been a stimulus for economic growth.Flag

Name: Linda Dietz on Apr 13, 2008Comments: Yes, I heartily agree with "no taxation without representation." My husband and I both were employed in the city of Yo., and paid their exhorbitant city tax of 2.75% , which amounted to more than the Ohio state tax. They must find ways to take care of their own city just as Boardman and Austintown must. No Way Jay!Flag

Name: George Grim on Apr 13, 2008Comments: This proposal would ruin Boardman. All business on the North side of 224 would either move to the South side of 224 or move out of Boardman. Why don't the mayor tax Columbus. The court there made this legal.Flag

How would this JEDD (income tax) benefit Austintown and Boardman It won't!!! It will only benefit the poor pathetic broke city of Youngstown!!!Flag
