Name: David Schultzer on Jun 2, 2011Comments: This is a waste of our money. We work so hard and spend so many tax dollars revitalizing downtowns, just to let some corporation with zero ties to the community come in and destroy what we have fixed. And subsidizing it with more tax dollars via tax breaks. disgusting! It's time for our politicians to start saying no to big box stores and preserving our local business districts.Monday, January 9th 4pm Brookhaven Town Hall Last Public Hearing to comment on the DEIS: yesFlag

Name: Dava Stravinsky on Jun 2, 2011Comments: I am not in favor of a Walmart on Hospital Road or on any local piece of property that would need to be cleared. There must be previously developed land suitable to build somewhere. We need to preserve as much open space in Brookhaven Town as possible.Monday, January 9th 4pm Brookhaven Town Hall Last Public Hearing to comment on the DEIS: No, I will be out of townFlag

Name: Robert H. Baker on Jun 3, 2011Comments: The approval and encouragement given to a Big Box Store would be tantamount to writing a decree that all small businesses are being scheduled to meet with the executioner. An approval for this Colosis from the corporate world would be the same as voting no for the American way of life. It should never be forgotten that the substance of America lies within the small business community. It is and should always be the mainstay of the American economy. The present economic situation should be enough to signal the mistakes that our governmental guardians have already committed and the approval of yet another "Huge and Non-Personal Store" would send a loud and clear signal to all those voters in our community as to the officials real feeling about the public they serve.Monday, January 9th 4pm Brookhaven Town Hall Last Public Hearing to comment on the DEIS:Flag

Name: David Flamenbaum on Jun 3, 2011Comments: As a small business owner I am under constant pressure to be competitive. Right now there is a bill in the state govt. To put wine in grocery stores. As it is I will have a hard enough time competeing with the big grocery stores and drug stores. Letting this Walmart be built will be like putting me out of business. Even though the legislation is not passed to let grocery stores sell wine it is only a matter of time before it happens. Wallmart is one of the biggest sellers of wine in this country. They do billions of dollars in sales of wine each year. My business is a small family run business that supports my family. It has been in business for over 40 years. I would hope that the planning board would take into consideration the roof over my head and the food on my table. Thank you for your time, Sincerely David FlamenbaumMonday, January 9th 4pm Brookhaven Town Hall Last Public Hearing to comment on the DEIS: no, i have to workFlag

Name: Anonymous on Jun 3, 2011Comments: Look, it's bad enough that the government wants to cut trees down (something we need more of) and raise taxes, but a Walmart? No! We have THREE CVSes and ATLEAST TWO Walgreens within close proximity, which is MORE THAN ENOUGH! A Walmart would put them all out of buisness which would lead to LESS JOBS!! And "they" want to put up a Walmart?! I don't think so! *puts foot down*Monday, January 9th 4pm Brookhaven Town Hall Last Public Hearing to comment on the DEIS: No, I can't drive. Sorry. Name: Anonymous on Jun 3, 2011Comments: Where they are planning to put walmart is not necessary. Its right off of Sunrise highway on a small local road. Down the road from Brookhaven hospital. It will cause more traffic and will cause ambulances to not get to the hospital in a good time to help ssve patients lives. That bridge is already backed up with traffic most of the time. Its a really bad idea, and I am totally against it!Monday, January 9th 4pm Brookhaven Town Hall Last Public Hearing to comment on the DEIS:Flag
