Name: Maureen Shaw on Oct 5, 2010Comments: This is a slap in the face to rape victims and sends a message to offenders and would-be offenders that it is acceptable to rape and assault girls. This is 100 percent unacceptable and a gross miscarriage of justice.Flag

Name: Doug Losey on Oct 5, 2010Comments: I find this to be a horrible flaw in our justice system. We cannot allow someone like to this to walk the streets or treat rape lightly. I am disgusted to have been alerted to this incident and have read the news articles trying to find why there may have been a reason that Tony Simmons was given such a light punishment but I haven't found any. This must be appealed.Flag

Name: Christina Pagano on Oct 5, 2010Comments: I read about unpunished rape in countries outside the U.S. and am thankful I live in a country where women's rights are protected. Must I now have doubts about my own home? With such a cut and dried case, the fact that this man is allowed to walk the streets--and prey on young women again, perhaps--is a terrible tragedy and a seriously bad message to send to others who may be exploiting similarly vulnerable populations.Flag

I urge you, Judge Mullen, to rethink your lenient sentence.Flag

Name: Michele Tall on Oct 5, 2010Comments: Dear Justice Mullen, If we cannot trust the individuals who are tasked to take care of our young women who can we trust? Giving this man no jail time is just not acceptable. The crime he has admitted to committing not only hurts these girls but all women and girls. It is past time for crimes like this to be severely punished. Individuals who prey on young girls and women need to know that if they commit a crime against them the punishments will be severe. The sentence imposed is not nearly sever enough and I urge you to sentence him to years in prison. Please help protect us. Kind regards, Michele Tall NYC taxpayer and voterFlag
